Saturday evening at 5:58pm the station along with Rescue 44, Ambulance 64, Ambulance 43, KM6 and Trooper 4 were dispatched for the auto accident with a subject reported trapped.  Millington Md. Chief Charlie Boyles, who was in the area on dispatch, was first on the scene and confirmed the report.  Command 45 w/Chief Moorhead, Rescue 45 w/6, Firefighter James Demczak, Squad 45 w/6 Past Chief Whalen, Rescue 44 and EMS assets arrived and went to work stabilizing the vehicle and performing a roof flap.  The driver was extricated in about 20 minutes and turned over to EMS for patient care.  The driver was airlifted to a local trauma center in Wilmington by Trooper 4.  The driver of the second vehicle refused medical treatment.  Chief Moorhead had the Clayton Command.  Units responding Command 45, Rescue 45, Rescue 44, Squad 45, A-64, B-43, KM 6, Trooper 4, Sta 45 Fire Police, TC44.  Photo's courtesy Mike Carroll.
