ENGINE AND LADDER GO TO SMYRNA FOR HOUSE FIRE

Monday morning at 06:42am the station was dispatched along with EMS assets to assist Station 44 on the residental structure fire at 69 Pebble Creek Drive in the Hickory Hollow Development.  Quint 45 w/4, Assistant Chief Joe Jones arrrived as the first due special services.  Engine 45-2 w/4, Chief Alex Carrow arrived as the second due engine and secured a second water supply as the first engine had their own hydrant in front of the residence.  Crews located a fire in the basement with extension to the first floor kitchen area.  Several handlines were stretched for fire attack.  The fire was quickly knocked down and the searches were negative.  Captain Chip Thompson (44-18) had the command.  The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.  Units responding;  Command 44-9, Engines 44-2, 4--3, 45-2, Ladder 44, Quint 45, Rescue 44, B-64, KM6, FM-13 (Schad).  Photo's courtesy Kevin Wilson, Joe Jones.
