ENGINE, RESCUE AND LADDER GO TO HARTLY FOR RESIDENTAL STRUCTURE FIRE

Saturday evening at 9:30pm the station was dispatched along with QAC Station 6 Sudlersville and KM6 to assist Station 51 Hartly on the residental structure fire at 34 Chance Road.  Responding units were advised a Firefighter from Station 45 was on scene reporting heavy smoke in the residence and fire extended into the floor and walls.  Quint 45 w/4, Assist Chief Joe Jones, Engine 45-2 w/5, Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap and Rescue 45 w/5, Deputy Chief John Pridemore arrived to find Hartly, Sudlersville and a Engine 2 (Millington), who was covering Sudlerville FC for their banquet on scene with a chimney fire with minor extension.  Crews from Clayton assisted with checking for extension.  Clayton crews were in service for about an hour.  Deputy Chief Ray Morris from Hartly had the Command.  Units responding; Command 51, Engines 51-2, 51-3, KCMD E-2 (Millington), QACMD E-64, Tanker 51 & KACMD 6, QACMD Q-6, Q-45, Rescue 51 & 45, L&A 51, B-51, QACA-6, KM6, FM-15 (Sipple).  While crews were busy working at this alarm Engine 45-3 w/6, Captain Crag Snyder was covering the Station 50 Harrington for their banquet from 5pm Saturday until 6am the next morning.  Photo's courtesy Mike Carroll.
