AUTO ACCIDENT WITH A SUBJECT TRAPPED SENDS ONE TO TRAUMA CENTER

Thursday morning at 08:57 the station along with Ambulance 64, KM6, KM5 and Trooper 4 were alerted for the auto accident with a subject reported trapped at Oak Hil School Road and Salter Road.  Command 45  w/ Deputy Chief Alex Carrow, Rescue 45 w/6 Captain Austin Moorhead and EMS units all arrived together to find a pickup truck into a tree with heavy entrapment.  The crew from the Rescue went to work stabilizing the vehicle and began extrication while EMS personnel started patient care.  Engine 45-3 w/6, Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap arrived behind the first units and went to work assisting units on scene.  Crews took just over 20 minutes to complete extrication.  The victin was transported by Ambulance 64 to the Landing Zone where he was transported to CER by Trooper 4.  Units responding; Command 45, Rescue 45, Engine 45-3, B-64, C-64, KM6, Trooper 4, DSP, Sta 45 Fire Police, DELDOT.  Photo's courtesy Jerry Hull.
