Tuesday morning at 10:05 the station was dispatcghed for the RIT assist Hartly on the residental structure fire in the 2100 block of Downs Chapel Road. The responses was quickly upgraded for the structural response from our company. First arriving Hartly units from heavy smoke showing from a one story single family dwelling. Rescue 45 w/6, Deputy Chief Alex Carrow arrived with Tanker 51 to find the crew from 51-2 on scene with a handline in service. The crew from Rescue 45 spilt with half placing a second line in service and and the other half performed the primary search. Engine 45-3 w/4, Chief Wes Davis arrived and that crew assisted with checking for extension and overhaul. Crews made quick work of the fire. Sudlersville Md engine was assigned the RIT and later assisted with overhaul. all searches came up negative. Three dogs perished in the fire. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating and Red Cross was called to assist the family. All Clayton units were back in quarters by noon.
