Tuesday afternoon at 3:55pm the station was dispatched for a small outside fire in the 600 block of E Radison Run in the Huntington Mills development. With a crew in the station Brush 45 w/4, Deputy Chief Alex Carrow and Command 45 w/Chief Wes Davis where on the street in a minute followed shortly by Engine 45-4 w/3, Lt. Burnett. Units arrived to find a fire in the wooded area behind the residences. The crew from Brush 45 stretched a booster reel while the crew form 45-4 stretched a 1 3/4″ line to Brush 45 for a water supply then stretched a forestry line. Command requested an additional engine from the station for manpower, Engine 45-3 w/6, Capt. Craig Snyder responded. Crews were able to control the fire in a bout 20 minutes. Chief Davis had the command. The state fire marshals office responded and is investigating. Clayton had 26 members respond on the call.
