RESIDENTAL STRUCTURE FIRE 100 BLOCK SUNRISE DR. JOCKEY HOLLOW

Sunday afternoon November 22 at 1:59pm Clayton along with Engine and Ladder 44, Engine 43, Engine 26, Rescue 51 and EMS assets were dispatched to the residental structure fire in the 100 block of Sunrise Dr. in Jockey Hollow.  Firefighter Dave Ross who lives in the immediate area arrived just after dispatch and reported fire showing from the Charlie side.  Command 45 w/Chief Alex Carrow arrived on scene a few minutes after FF Ross and reported a 2 story SFW dwelling with heavy fire on the 1st and 2nd floors on the charlie side extending into the attic.  Engine 45 w/5, Past Chief Robbie Johnson arrived behind the chief secured a water supply and stretched the attack line to the first floor.  Quint 45 w/5, Asst. Chief Jeff Lightcap and Ladder 44 arrived behind the engine and handled the 1st and 2nd due special services.  Squad 45 w/6 Past Chief Kevin Wilson secured a 2nd water supply and stretched the 2nd handline followed by Engine 44 who stretched the 3rd handline.  Engine 43 secured Squad 45's hydrant while Tanker 26 stretched additional lines to the Chrlie side from Underwoods Corner Rd.  Rescue 51 was assigned the RIT.  Command requested the coverup engine from Millington into the scene along with an additional Engine Co. bringing Rescue 53, Tanker 53 and Squad 54.  The fire was brought under control in just under an hour with units remaining on scene for an additional hour and half for overhaul.  There were no injuries reported but unfortuniately a K9 perished in the fire.  Damage to the house was extensive.
