VEHICLE ACCIDENT TURNS INTO ELECTRIC HAZARD

tuesday afternoon at 2:13pm The station along with Ambulance 64, KM6 were dispatched for the auto accident with a vehicle vs pole and wires down at Sunnyside Road and Hillyard Road.  Command 45 w/ Chief Alex Carrow, Rescue/Engine 45 w/6, Captain Austin Moorhead, Squad 45 w/4, Past Chief Jeff Hurlock and brush 45 w/2 made the response.  Responding units were advised the acciddent was involving a truck with live wires down on the truck and the operator still inside.  The caller was also reporting they truck was carrying hay bales with possible fire.  With that report Chief Carrow requested a brush piece out of Station 44.  Units arrived to find a piece of farm equipment that was entering the field had got caught up in overhead electrical lines and the driver was still inside.  Fire crews secured the area and stood by until the arrival of the elctric company wh secured the power to the lines and the driver got out of the vehicle.  Crews clear in a short period of time.  Pictures courtesy Curt Gruber from Sta 44 and Kevin Wilson..  Units responding; Command 45, Rescue/Engine 45, Squad 45, Brush 45, 44-0, A-64, B-64, Km6, DSP, DEC.  Within the last 24 hours the station has responded to 7 alarms.
