COMPANY RESPONDS TO A COUPLE CALLS DURING CHRISTMAS
Thursday, December 26, 2019

The company not only had the annual Operation Santa on December 23rd and 24th but also responded to several calls over Christmas.  Christmas night the station was alerted to assist Station 44 on a gas leak in the 300 Block of Paul Dr.  Both engines responded and assisted crews from Smyrna to investigate a gas odor in the area.  The call was placed under control after units were unable to locate anything.  The morning after Christmas at 7am the station along with the American Legion Ambulance was dispatched for the auto accident with injuries in the 1000 Block of Wheatleys Pond Road.  The Command Unit, Rescue and Engine made the response.  One person was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.  Later that day at 12 noon the station was dispatched again this time for a vehicle fire on Vandyke-Greenspring Road w/o Alley Mill Road.  The Command Vehicle and both engines resonded and found a small fire under a picup truck on the shoulder of the road.
