Thursday afternoon at 4:04pm the station along with Ambulance 64 and KM6 were dispacthed to assist Station 44 Smyrna on a residental structure fire at 44 E. Commerce St. Quint 45 w/5, Chief Alex Carrow, Engine 45-2 w/6, Capt. Craig Snyder and Rescue 45 w/5 Asst. Chief Jeff Lightcap responded. Responding units were advised the caller reported the front porch of the residence on fire. As the first units were going on scene of the house fire Station 44 was dispatched for a second multi residental structure fire at 1404 Providence Drive in the Govenor Place Apartments. Engine 44-2 w/ Chief Johnson arrived at the first call and quickly placed that under control and re-directed responding units to the second call. Rescue 45, Ladder 44 and Quint 45 arrived together at Providence Drive and reported smoke showing from a middle of the row townhouse. The crew from Rescue 45, Ladder 44 and Quint 45 stretched a line, secured a water supply and began searches. The fire was contained to the kitchen area with smoke damage throughout the apartment.
