NON DWELLING STRUCTURE FIRE LONGRIDGE ROAD

Tuesday afternoon at 2:33pm the station was dispatched for the large outside fire in the 1100 Block of Longridge Road.  Command 45 w/Deputy Chief Alex Carrow made the response followed closely behind by Brush 45 w/4, Captain Jonathan Burnett and Engine 45-3 w/6, Captain Austin Morrhead.  While enroute Kent Center advised responding units they were recieving several call reporting alarge woods fire.  Command advised he had a large column of smoke from several miles away and requested the additional engine from the station along with a Brush Piece and Tanker form Station 44 and a Brush Piece and Engine from Kent County Md Station 2 Millington. Engine 45-2 w/6 Captain Craig Snyder made the response.  Upon arrival and after further investigating Deputy Chief Carrow reported a 20'x40' storage building involved and had collapsed and cancelled the brush piece and had the remainder of the response continue in.  Brush 45 arrived with its crew pulling a booster line while 45-3 crew stretched an 1 3/4" handline.  The remainding apparatus were used for water supply and manpower.  Deputy Chief Carrow had the command.  The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office responded and is investigating.  Units responding;  Command 45, Brush 45, Brush 44, Brush 2, Engine 45-3, 45-2, 2, Tanker 44A, Utility 45, Station 45 Fire Police, FM29 (Brode).  Photo's courtesy Jason Carletti and Joe Jones.
